General Terms and Conditions of Sale

Grimoires and Legends

Article 1 – Purpose and identification of the seller

These General Terms and Conditions of Sale (GTC) govern sales made on the Grimoires et Légendes website, operated by:

VAN MEENEN Gilles, Sole Proprietor – Bookbinder, Address: 3 rue du Rocher Vert - 17730 Port des Barques - France, Email: grimoiresetlegendes17@gmail.com, SIRET: 45088274100025, VAT not applicable – Article 293B of the French General Tax Code

Any order placed on the website implies full and unreserved acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

Article 2 – Products

The products offered are handcrafted creations, including notebooks called "Grimoires", writing accessories, calligraphy and related items.

Each creation is handmade and therefore a unique piece. As such, slight variations in color, texture, shape, or finish may occur. These unique characteristics are inherent to handcrafted work and contribute to the authenticity of each piece.

The photographs are taken by us to accurately represent the creations. However, differences in rendering or color may appear depending on the screen or display settings, without this constituting a defect in conformity.

The products offered for sale are available in stock as indicated on the website at the time of ordering. For Grimoires, stock is limited to one unit per creation, as each piece is unique and cannot be reproduced exactly.

Article 3 – Order

Any order placed on the Grimoires et Légendes website constitutes acceptance of the prices, descriptions and these Terms and Conditions.

The seller reserves the right to refuse or cancel any order in the event of a prior dispute with the customer or suspicion of fraud.

Article 4 – Price

Prices are shown in euros (€), inclusive of all taxes. VAT not applicable – article 293B of the French General Tax Code.

Delivery costs are specified before final order confirmation.

Article 5 – Payment

Payment is due immediately upon ordering.

Accepted payment methods are: Credit card via SumUp, PayPal (or other methods indicated on the site).

The order will only be shipped after receipt and validation of payment.

Article 6 – Delivery

The products are delivered to the address provided by the customer when placing the order.

Shipping times depend on the seller's ability to prepare and hand over the package to the carrier. As a craftsperson who regularly participates in trade shows and events throughout France, these times may occasionally be longer due to business trips.

When possible, the dates of trade shows or events are indicated on the brand's website or communication materials.

Once the package is handed over to the carrier or postal service, delivery times are their sole responsibility. Grimoires et Légendes cannot be held liable for delays attributable to the carrier or postal service, provided the package was handed over within a reasonable timeframe.

The risks associated with transport are transferred to the customer at the time the package is handed over to the carrier.

Article 7 – Craftsmanship and Tolerances

Handcrafted creations may show slight signs related to their manual production: discreet traces of glue, natural variations in leather (difference in color, texture, natural or intentional tears or scratches), misaligned paper or materials used in decoration.

Regarding natural feathers, decorative inkwells, handmade storybooks, variations in shape or finish may exist and cannot give rise to a claim for aesthetic reasons.

These characteristics are an integral part of the product and do not constitute a defect.

Article 8 – Products requiring a heat source – Safety

Some of the products offered, including sealing wax, wax spoons, stamps and related accessories, require the use of a heat source (candle, flame, hot plate).

These products must be used with caution and in accordance with the safety instructions provided. Grimoires et Légendes cannot be held responsible for injuries, burns, cuts or property damage resulting from improper, careless or misuse of the products.

Article 9 – Legal Guarantees

The products benefit from the legal guarantee of conformity provided for in Articles L217-3 et seq. of the Consumer Code, as well as the guarantee against hidden defects provided for in Articles 1641 et seq. of the Civil Code.

Article 10 – Right of withdrawal

In accordance with the law, the customer has a period of fourteen (14) days from the receipt of his order to exercise his right of withdrawal, without having to justify any reason.

The right of withdrawal does not apply to personalized or custom-made products.

To exercise this right, the customer must notify their decision by email or mail. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer. Returned products must be in perfect condition, unused, and carefully packaged.
